*  Base stations communicate with everyone.  They cannot isolate calls to a single school.

Procedure for making an emergency  radio call  from a Command Vertex Display Radio to a school  monitoring  station.

1.  Radio must be on and tuned to ch #1.

2.  Use the D or E button to select which school you wish to contact .  The name of the school should appear in the LCD display window.  If you wish to contact all Schools the word ALL CALL should appear.

3.  ON the left side of the radio you have 3 buttons.  Press the middle button for 2 seconds then release.  (Your phone should play an audible signal letting you know that the ALL CALL connection was made).

4.  Press the top button and hold to communicate a message or make an announcement.  (see communications practices below)

5. When you are finished with your broadcast  Use the D or E button to select ALL MUTE   this closes the communication mode and silences the monitoring stations.   Press the middle "side"  button for 2 seconds then release.  (Your phone should play an audible signal letting you know that the ALL MUTE connection was made).

When you need a confirmation of who heard the announcement...  "Roll Call".  Please do not have them call you independently to avoid  cross talking over each other.

The schools can press the "Talk" button on the monitoring station  to respond to your call or they can respond via the handheld radio tuned to channel 3..
